According to Football Insider, the Tractor Boys have submitted a formal proposal for the Dutch striker as they look to complete a late deal before Tuesday night’s deadline.
Ipswich are reportedly facing competition from Ligue 1 club Lille for Flemming’s signature.
The 28-year-old is believed to be keen on leaving Burnley before the transfer window shuts, with the former Millwall attacker reportedly eager to return to one of Europe’s major leagues.
A fee of around £17 million has been suggested for Flemming, making him a potentially valuable addition to O’Neil’s squad.
Flemming Has Already Shown His Quality
One of the biggest attractions of Flemming is that he has already demonstrated his ability to score goals in the Premier League.
The Dutchman found the net regularly for Burnley last season despite playing for a side that ultimately suffered relegation. His individual performances stood out even though the Clarets struggled collectively.
Interestingly, while Flemming and Emersonn posted similar expected-goals figures during the 2025/26 league campaign, the Burnley forward finished with five more goals than his younger rival.
That difference highlights Flemming’s superior efficiency in front of goal and suggests that he could provide Ipswich with a more reliable attacking outlet.
For a team fighting to remain in the Premier League, having a striker who has already proved he can score consistently at this level could be crucial.
