Tottenham reignite interest in ‘incredible’ PL star, player wants to move and is ready to join Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur have revived their pursuit of Brazilian winger Savinho as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer window closes.

According to The Times, Spurs are actively working on a deal that could be worth around £60 million, with the Manchester City forward reportedly eager to secure a move away from the Etihad Stadium.

The North London club have tracked Savinho for some time and previously explored the possibility of signing him. However, negotiations stalled after City demanded around £67 million for the 22-year-old.

Talks have now resumed, with both clubs engaged in discussions aimed at reaching an agreement. While the initial package is expected to be close to £60 million, the overall value could increase through performance-related bonuses.

Tottenham have already shown a willingness to invest heavily this summer, and Savinho remains one of their priority attacking targets.

The Brazilian has informed Manchester City of his desire to leave after struggling for regular first-team opportunities under former boss Pep Guardiola. Although Guardiola rated the winger highly, intense competition within City’s squad limited his chances to establish himself as a consistent starter.

Savinho remains under contract until 2029, giving City significant leverage in negotiations.

The winger joined Manchester City from French club Troyes in a £34 million transfer in 2024. Before arriving in England, he impressed during a successful loan spell at Girona, another club within the City Football Group.

Despite showing glimpses of his quality during his debut season in England, Savinho found game time difficult to come by, making just seven Premier League starts across 24 league appearances.

He finished the campaign with four goals and three assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

Tottenham view Savinho’s ability to operate across multiple attacking positions as a perfect fit for Roberto De Zerbi’s tactical plans, while the player is also believed to be enthusiastic about a switch to North London.

Spurs have already enjoyed a busy transfer window, strengthening their midfield with the arrivals of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali in deals worth a combined £177.5 million.

The club have also reinforced their defence by signing Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andrew Robertson, and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka as part of an ambitious squad overhaul ahead of the new season.
