DONE DEAL— Fabrizio Romano hands Summer Celtic transfer as “verbal agreement” reached

Liverpool F.C. defender Andy Robertson is reportedly edging closer to a summer move, with claims of a “verbal agreement” already in place with Tottenham Hotspur.

The 32-year-old left-back is expected to leave Anfield at the end of the season, bringing the curtain down on a remarkable nine-year spell that has seen him make nearly 400 appearances for the club.

Speculation had previously linked Robertson with a return to his boyhood side, Celtic F.C., but a recent update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano appears to have cooled those rumours.

According to Romano, discussions have already taken place between the Scotland international and Spurs over a potential move.

He reported that a verbal agreement is in place for a transfer in June 2026, with terms broadly agreed—though nothing has been formally signed yet.

A key factor in finalising the deal will be Tottenham’s Premier League status, with Robertson said to be open to the project if the club avoids relegation.

Spurs recently appointed Roberto De Zerbi as head coach, following the departure of interim boss Igor Tudor. However, their fight for survival has taken a hit in recent days, with results elsewhere leaving them stuck in the relegation zone as the season enters its final stretch.

Meanwhile, back at Celtic, competition for the left-back role remains fierce. Kieran Tierney continues to be a key figure, while Marcelo Saracchi—currently on loan from Boca Juniors—is also in contention.

Reports suggest the club is in talks to make Saracchi’s move permanent this summer, adding further context to Robertson’s decision-making as he considers his next step.
