adminTottenham Hotspur are reportedly pushing to strengthen their attacking options this summer, with Manchester City winger Savinho remaining their primary transfer target.
However, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the North London club are also monitoring Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo as they look to add multiple attacking reinforcements before the new season.
Spurs have already enjoyed an impressive transfer window, signing Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali after back-to-back 17th-place finishes in the Premier League.
Despite those arrivals, head coach Roberto De Zerbi has made it clear that further additions in attack are a priority.
The club are working on a deal for Savinho, who has reportedly informed Manchester City of his desire to leave the Etihad Stadium. However, Romano believes Tottenham are unlikely to stop at just one winger.
Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Romano revealed that Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo is another player admired by Spurs.
The Dutch international has been linked with a potential exit from Anfield as Liverpool consider raising funds for a move for Bradley Barcola, opening the door to possible interest from Tottenham.
Romano said: “In a separate story to Savinho, because I expect Tottenham to sign two players, I would still keep an eye on Tottenham and Cody Gakpo because he’s another player they like.
“So let’s see what is going to happen there, if Liverpool are going to open doors or not, but for sure, there will be many movements for wingers at Tottenham.”
Tottenham’s transfer activity reflects the club’s determination to build a stronger squad ahead of the upcoming campaign. Although several new faces have arrived, the attacking department still requires reinforcements.
Richarlison’s future remains uncertain, while Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons continue their recovery from serious knee injuries. Dejan Kulusevski has also been sidelined with a long-term knee issue, and Randal Kolo Muani’s departure has further reduced De Zerbi’s attacking options.
Should Tottenham succeed in signing Gakpo alongside Savinho, they would add proven quality and Premier League experience to their frontline, significantly boosting their attacking depth for the season ahead.
