Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly decided to speed up their search for a new attacking signing as they continue an ambitious summer rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi, according to a club insider.
Spurs have already enjoyed a busy transfer window, completing six major signings. Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali have all arrived in north London in deals worth a combined £235 million. Meanwhile, promising youngster Luka Vuskovic has departed for Brighton.
Having strengthened their defence and midfield, while also rewarding goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky with a new contract to establish him as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, Tottenham are now shifting their full attention towards reinforcing their attacking options.
Tottenham Ready to Intensify Savinho Pursuit
According to reports, Tottenham are preparing to accelerate their efforts to sign Manchester City winger Savinho.
The Brazilian forward, previously praised as “incredible” by Pep Guardiola, was on Spurs’ radar last summer before opting to remain at Manchester City and signing a new long-term contract. However, limited first-team opportunities have left his future uncertain, and with Guardiola no longer at the club, a summer departure is becoming increasingly possible.
Tottenham have once again identified the 22-year-old as their leading target for the wide attacking positions. Reports suggest the player is open to making the move, prompting Spurs to increase their efforts to secure an agreement.
Manchester City are believed to value Savinho at around £60 million, although Tottenham hope negotiations could reduce that asking price. Despite the financial hurdle, the winger has become the club’s priority target, with the board eager to complete a deal as quickly as possible.
While new City boss Enzo Maresca is reportedly willing to sanction a transfer, Savinho will only leave if a suitable agreement is reached. The Brazilian remains under contract until June 2031, meaning Spurs must satisfy both the player and Manchester City before any move can be finalised.
Savinho Could Transform Tottenham’s Attack
Although Savinho found consistent playing time difficult to come by at Manchester City, his lack of minutes reflected the fierce competition for places rather than any question over his ability.
At Tottenham, he would be expected to challenge immediately for the right-wing role. His pace, close control and outstanding dribbling make him a constant threat in one-on-one situations, while his dangerous left foot gives him the ability to create and score goals from wide areas.
With Tottenham already demonstrating their willingness to invest heavily during the transfer window, a move for Savinho appears to be gathering momentum. If negotiations progress positively, this could become one of Spurs’ biggest signings of the summer in the weeks ahead.
