Full time at Villa Park: Aston Villa vs. Tottenham Hotspur – Player ratings

Tottenham Hotspur have recorded back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time in 2026, beating Aston Villa to climb out of the relegation zone with three matches remaining. Here’s how the Spurs players fared.

Tottenham player ratings vs. Aston Villa

Antonin Kinsky – 7.5
The Czech goalkeeper saw little action in the first half, and the second half brought more of the same as most Villa efforts were blocked before reaching him. He was excellent with his feet, fitting De Zerbi’s system perfectly. Late on, Villa grabbed a consolation goal that Kinsky could do nothing about.

Pedro Porro – 8
In the first half, Porro drifted away from his traditional full-back role, tucking into midfield to help progress the ball. After the break, he played more conservatively as Spurs protected their two-goal lead.

Kevin Danso – 8.5
The centre-back was disciplined in the first half, pushing up to make tackles before Villa could enter the box. He maintained that aggressive, high-pressing approach after the break.

Micky van de Ven – 8
The Dutchman had a quiet first half defensively but was called into action more after the interval as Villa pushed harder. His pace repeatedly bailed Spurs out when the home side got in behind.

Destiny Udogie – 7.5
Udogie was adventurous early on, bombing forward and inverting or overlapping at will. In the second half, he played much more conservatively as Spurs focused on seeing out the win.

Joao Palhinha – 8.5
The Portuguese came close to scoring in the first half with a long-range effort that hit the post and was denied by Emi Martinez. After the break, he showcased his ball-winning ability with key interceptions, tackles, and blocks.

Rodrigo Bentancur – 8.5
The Uruguayan delivered a complete performance until his second-half substitution. He showed composure in short passing to keep Spurs ticking, while also winning duels and tackling aggressively.

Conor Gallagher – 9
Gallagher pressed from the first minute and scored the opener. He picked up right where he left off in the second half, maintaining his intensity throughout.

Mathys Tel – 8
His standout moment came with a first-half assist for Richarlison’s goal. At times, he held onto the ball too long when teammates were open. Chances were fewer in the second half, but he still provided width and an outlet.

Richarlison – 8
The Brazilian scored Spurs’ second goal with a powerful header from Tel’s cross. He saw fewer chances in the second half but continued to press and work tirelessly for the team.

Randal Kolo Muani – 7.5
A much-improved display after two poor outings under De Zerbi. He showed direct, creative wing play in the first half and pressed effectively. He tired in the second half, making a poor decision on a counter-attack before being replaced by Djed Spence.

Substitutes

Yves Bissouma – 7
Replaced Bentancur and helped maintain control in central midfield.

Djed Spence – 7
Came on for Kolo Muani, offering width on the right. He made several runs into the box and had a goal ruled out for offside.

Pape Matar Sarr – N/A
Returned from injury for a late cameo, replacing Richarlison.

Lucas Bergvall – N/A
Came on for Tel in the final moments of the match.
