“It’s So Shameful and Looks Hilarious” – West Ham United captain (Jarrod Bowen) aggressively hits out at VAR and the referee over the disallowed Hammers goal, raising major speculation that the Premier League favouring Tottenham Hotspur in the survival battle… What he said deserves a fine from FIFA
Jarrod Bowen didn’t hide his frustration after West Ham had a goal disallowed against Arsenal, questioning the consistency of the decision-making.
“When you’re staring at a screen for five minutes, you’re bound to find something,” he said. “There’s plenty of grappling and holding going on. I’m sure if you search long enough, you’ll spot something. Do I think it’s the right call? No.”
He continued: “It’s just frustrating. Where’s the consistency? As a fan, you don’t want to celebrate a goal and then have to wait eight minutes only for it to be taken away from you.”
Bowen argued that physical battles are simply part of the game. “Corners are physical. The Premier League is physical. That’s exactly why everyone loves it. You have to expect some contact at corners. If you penalise that, then you’ve got to give every holding foul across the pitch, and that’s not how anyone wants the game to go.”
He added: “I don’t want to come across as bitter, but just last week Tomas Soucek was held at Brentford and we didn’t get a penalty. Yet today, a decision like that goes against us.” (BBC)
