Tottenham and Juventus have both submitted offers for Marcos Senesi, who is expected to leave Bournemouth as a free agent when his contract expires this summer.

The Argentine defender is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning Bournemouth will lose him for nothingโ€”just 12 months after selling Dean Huijsen and Illia Zabarnyi.

Senesiโ€™s next move

Earlier reports suggested Senesi preferred to remain in the Premier League, but the player clarified this week that isnโ€™t necessarily the case.

โ€œI donโ€™t have a preferred league. I do like playing in the Premier League and enjoy the competition, but Iโ€™m open to moving elsewhere. Iโ€™ve told my agent to let me know when thereโ€™s something concrete.โ€

That could disappoint Tottenham, who were hoping to strengthen their defense on a budget this summer by signing both Senesi and Andy Robertson on free transfers. Interest from abroad may complicate their plans.

According to journalist Mirko Di Natale, Senesi has two formal offers: one from Spurs and another from Serie A giants Juventus.

However, Juveโ€™s four-year proposal doesnโ€™t match the salary offered by the North London club, which keeps Roberto De Zerbiโ€™s side in pole position.

Senesi, praised by BBCโ€™s Danny Murphy earlier this season for his โ€œphenomenal distribution from the back,โ€ has earned three senior Argentina caps. His ability to pass through defensive lines has helped him register five assists so far this season. The decision on his next club is now his to make.

De Zerbi: Spurs good enough to avoid relegation

Meanwhile, Roberto De Zerbi has warned Tottenhamโ€™s relegation rivals not to write them offโ€”and insists there will be no complaining about their mounting injury problems.

Spurs ended a 16-match winless run in the Premier League with a victory over Wolves on Saturday, but the joy was short-lived: Xavi Simons (knee) has been ruled out for most of 2026, and Dominic Solanke is also sidelined with a hamstring issue.

Ahead of Sundayโ€™s trip to Aston Villa, De Zerbi opened his press conference with a four-minute speech about shutting out negativity, reiterating his belief that 18th-placed Tottenham can survive.

โ€œI watched you this week,โ€ he told a Sky Sports reporter. โ€œI want to be clear. The biggest challenge now is to silence the negative voice inside usโ€”inside the players, staff, and fans.

โ€œThat voice says, โ€˜Weโ€™re unlucky, too many injuries, we lost Xavi Simons who was one of our best players, our medical staff isnโ€™t good enough, the pitch is bad, we canโ€™t win two or three in a row.โ€™ Thatโ€™s all rubbish.

โ€œWeโ€™re facing one of the best teams in the Premier League right now. We have huge respect for Emery as a coach, but if Tottenham win at Villa Park, it wonโ€™t be a miracle. Maybe we loseโ€”I donโ€™t knowโ€”but we have the quality to win.

โ€œIโ€™ve heard people say itโ€™s impossible, that everyoneโ€™s crying, that weโ€™re relegated. Not yet. We have to fight until the end. We have to lose the game before we lose the gameโ€”but first we have to play.

โ€œWeโ€™re two points behind West Ham, and they also have tough fixtures. Itโ€™s not our best moment, itโ€™s difficult, but losers cry and think negatively. I donโ€™t want people around me like that.

โ€œWe are good enough to win games and good enough to stay up.โ€
