According to a recent report, both Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have been turned down by a player who has opted to join Tottenham instead.
With just four Premier League matches remaining and the threat of relegation still looming, Roberto De Zerbi’s side is actively exploring market opportunities. Tottenham are accelerating their summer planning, and their recruitment strategy is gradually becoming clearer.
De Zerbi’s team has already secured a verbal agreement with Liverpool legend and Scotland captain Andy Robertson, who will become a free agent at the end of the season. The experienced left-back is seen as part of a defensive rebuild at Spurs, with personal terms reportedly agreed in principle ahead of his departure from Anfield.
Tottenham have also been linked with Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka, having submitted a two-year contract proposal to the German international as they aim to build a more competitive squad for next season, regardless of which division they find themselves in (Calciomercato).
Further details are now emerging about another key summer target.
Marcos Senesi rejects Dortmund and Juventus for Tottenham
According to CaughtOffside, Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi has turned down contract offers from Borussia Dortmund and Juventus, as the Argentine prioritizes a move to North London. The 28-year-old is set to become a free agent when his deal at the Vitality Stadium expires, having already confirmed he will not sign a new contract with Bournemouth.
Although both German and Italian clubs registered serious interest and pushed to sign him, Senesi reportedly found their proposals lacking, leaving Tottenham in a strong position to move forward. Spurs are said to be in “advanced talks” with Senesi’s representatives, though no deal has been finalized despite widespread reports of a verbal agreement.

Industry sources suggest both sides are progressing toward a deal, with Tottenham eager to get it over the line—but one major factor remains: if Spurs are relegated, the situation could change significantly.
Liverpool have also been linked with Senesi, and reports indicate the Merseyside club hasn’t completely ruled out a move, as they look to add defensive depth regardless of whether Ibrahima Konaté stays. Should Tottenham go down, it would open the door for Arne Slot’s side to re-enter the race for Senesi, meaning Spurs’ current favorite status is conditional.
With Robertson, Goretzka, and Senesi, the groundwork is being laid. The question now is whether Tottenham can deliver on the pitch to make any of it count.
