Norway were robbed. I don’t say that lightly, but I genuinely cannot understand why that goal was ruled out.

I watched the replay multiple times, and I just don’t see enough from Erling Haaland on Anderson to justify disallowing it. Football is a contact sport—players are allowed to jostle for position. If we start scrubbing goals for every little nudge, we’ll be wiping out strikes every single weekend.

Haaland didn’t shove him with any real force, didn’t tug his shirt, and certainly didn’t do enough to send Anderson tumbling like that. To me, Anderson goes down far too easily, and the referee bought it.

What stings most is that Torbjørn Heggem did everything right—kept his composure, finished superbly, and should be soaking in one of the biggest moments of his career. Instead, all anyone’s talking about is a call that, in my view, is simply incorrect.

VAR is meant to fix clear and obvious errors, not invent drama where none existed. I don’t see a clear foul here—I see two players competing physically, the kind of battle we’ve watched for decades in this sport.

These calls change games. At 2–1, England would have been under serious pressure. Instead, Norway lose a perfectly good goal, and that’s brutally hard to take.

If that level of contact is enough to overturn a goal, then being a centre-forward is becoming near impossible. In my book, Norway deserved that goal, and they have every right to feel deeply hard done by.
