England Star produced another outstanding performance for England on Tuesday night, giving manager Thomas Tuchel yet another reason to praise the Bayern Munich striker and his credentials for the 2026 Ballon d’Or.
Kane marked his record-equalling 125th England appearance in spectacular fashion as the Three Lions defeated Czechia 3-0 at Wembley in the UEFA Nations League.
The England captain was involved in all three goals on a memorable night. His dangerous cross helped create Vladimir Coufal’s own goal before Kane scored twice himself to complete a brilliant individual display.
The result also saw Kane equal Peter Shilton’s long-standing record for the most appearances by an England men’s player. The milestone had stood for 36 years before Kane finally drew level with the former goalkeeper.
Tuchel Runs Out of Words for Kane
Tuchel has repeatedly praised Kane during the international break, and his latest comments showed just how highly he rates the striker.
The England boss described Kane’s performance as “brilliant” and insisted that the striker deserves the recognition coming his way.
Tuchel had already highlighted Kane’s Ballon d’Or credentials before the Czechia match, saying the Bayern star is performing at the highest level consistently.
According to the England manager, Kane has discovered another level since taking on a major role at Bayern Munich, both on and off the pitch.
That assessment has been backed up by Kane’s remarkable numbers. Before the Czechia game, he had already scored 89 international goals and was continuing to produce consistently for both club and country.
His latest two goals have now taken him beyond the 90-goal mark for England, leaving him just nine goals away from reaching the extraordinary 100-goal milestone.
Kane’s Ballon d’Or Argument Continues to Grow
Kane’s case for the Ballon d’Or has become increasingly difficult to ignore.
The striker has been in exceptional form for Bayern Munich while also maintaining his remarkable scoring record with England. Tuchel previously pointed to Kane’s huge goal tally and trophy success with Bayern when explaining why he believes his captain deserves the world’s most prestigious individual award.
His performances for England have only strengthened that argument.
After scoring twice in England’s 7-0 demolition of Croatia, Kane followed it up with another brace against Czechia. He has therefore continued to deliver on the biggest international stage while also breaking major records along the way.
Bellingham Also Gives Kane Huge Praise
Kane’s performance earned him praise from another of England’s biggest stars, Jude Bellingham.
The Real Madrid midfielder described Kane as the best England player ever to wear the national shirt and said it was an honour to play alongside him.
Bellingham also pointed to Kane’s goalscoring, work rate and overall influence, insisting that the striker is “only getting better.”
For Kane, the evening was about much more than simply scoring goals. He equalled Shilton’s record, helped England secure another important Nations League victory and once again demonstrated why he remains one of the world’s elite strikers.
With his form showing no signs of slowing down, Kane’s Ballon d’Or hopes are likely to remain one of the major talking points surrounding the England captain.
