Reporter: “Pedro, can you explain what happened between you and Jacob Ramsey after the match?”

🗣️ Pedro Porro: “Jacob came over to me after the game and laughed directly in my face. I confronted him and asked him what he found funny. He replied, ‘Am I not allowed to laugh?’ I then asked him, ‘Are you laughing at us because we lost?’

“He responded by saying, ‘You didn’t just lose, you always lose.’ I found that extremely disrespectful, and I took those words personally. There’s a clear difference between players joking around after a match and someone intentionally trying to belittle another player.

“I was frustrated and angry at the time, but thankfully my teammates stepped in before things could escalate. I know football is a passionate sport and there will always be some level of banter between players, but I don’t believe there is any need to cross the line and disrespect a fellow professional.

“We can compete against each other, have conversations, celebrate victories and enjoy the rivalry, but respect should always remain. Eventually, I tried to put the incident behind me, but I won’t pretend that his comments didn’t affect me. I definitely took them personally because I felt they were completely unnecessary.”
