According to reports from The Sun, Spurs are now leading the pursuit of the 22-year-old, with negotiations between the North London club and Manchester City said to be progressing positively. Although AC Milan remain interested, a move within the Premier League is now considered the more likely outcome.
Savinho has become one of Tottenham’s top attacking priorities this summer as Roberto De Zerbi continues to reshape the squad.
The Italian manager is believed to be a strong admirer of the Brazilian, viewing his blistering pace, dribbling ability and creativity as qualities capable of strengthening Spurs’ attack.
Tottenham have been monitoring the winger for several months, with discussions intensifying in recent days as they push to complete a deal.
AC Milan also entered the race after exploring other attacking options earlier in the transfer window. The Serie A giants initially considered a move for Phil Foden before turning their attention to Savinho, who was seen as a more realistic target.
Milan reportedly prepared a loan proposal that included a mandatory purchase clause worth between €50 million and €55 million, but they have now fallen behind Tottenham in the race.
Manchester City are yet to receive a formal offer from either club, but they are reportedly willing to consider selling Savinho if the right proposal arrives. However, Pep Guardiola’s side are expected to approve the transfer only after bringing in suitable attacking reinforcements, meaning City’s own transfer business could determine the timing of any exit.
De Zerbi has made no secret of his desire to add greater attacking depth and quality to his squad, and Savinho fits the profile perfectly. Able to operate on either wing, the Brazil international combines direct running, flair in one-on-one situations and an eye for creating chances, making him an ideal addition to Tottenham’s evolving style of play.
While an agreement has not yet been finalised, Spurs currently appear to have the upper hand as the transfer window approaches its closing stages. With regular first-team football becoming increasingly important for the €40 million-rated winger, a move to Tottenham could provide the ideal platform for the next stage of his career.
