Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a boost as key player reportedly returned to training with the first-team this morning.
Tottenham Hotspur have received a major boost ahead of their Premier League clash with Newcastle United, with Mohammed Kudus reportedly returning to first-team training this morning.
The Ghanaian international has been sidelined since January after suffering a thigh injury during Tottenham’s encounter with Sunderland.
Kudus had already taken an important step forward in his recovery earlier this month after returning to grass training as he continued his rehabilitation programme.
The 26-year-old has now reportedly joined his teammates in full first-team training, raising hopes that he could be available for selection when Spurs face Newcastle on Saturday.
However, the final decision will rest with Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi, who must determine whether Kudus is ready to be included in the matchday squad against the Magpies.
His potential return represents a significant boost for Spurs, particularly given the attacking qualities he can offer in the final third.
The former West Ham United attacker made 19 Premier League appearances last season, starting every game he featured in and contributing two goals and five assists.
Tottenham will be hoping Kudus can rediscover that influence as quickly as possible, with the club needing additional creativity and attacking threat during the new campaign.
Kudus is also expected to be eager to return to competitive action after spending such a long period on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, Dejan Kulusevski has continued to make progress in his own rehabilitation and could potentially return to action within the next few weeks.
Tottenham still have several players unavailable through injury, with Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert among the long-term absentees. James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro, meanwhile, could reportedly return to action next month.
Spurs endured a difficult start to the 2026/27 Premier League season, suffering a 3-0 defeat against Brentford last Saturday.
They responded strongly in midweek, however, recording an emphatic 5-1 victory over Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
De Zerbi’s side will now be determined to secure their first Premier League victory of the campaign when they take on Newcastle on Saturday.
Should Kudus be deemed fit enough to feature, his return could provide Tottenham with another important attacking option as they look to get their league campaign back on track.
