Tottenham in advanced talks to sign 22-y/o South American star, £60m deal could be agreed – report

Tottenham Hotspur are currently in advanced negotiations with Manchester City regarding a summer move for Brazilian winger Savinho, according to Football Insider.

The North London club had already shown interest in the 21-year-old last year, but saw several bids turned down by City. Savinho ultimately committed his future to the Etihad in October, signing a new deal that keeps him at the club until 2031.

That rejection forced Spurs to look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements. They eventually brought in Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG and wrapped up a deadline-day deal for RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons.

Savinho, however, experienced a difficult 2025-26 season in terms of game time, managing just 14 starts across all competitions—only seven of which came in the Premier League. That lack of minutes has fueled speculation that the Brazilian may be open to a fresh start elsewhere.

Tottenham have stayed in the hunt for his signature, with reports from July via Football Talk reiterating their interest. Now, it seems they’re accelerating their pursuit, with Football Insider reporting that talks with City have reached an advanced stage ahead of the summer transfer deadline.

Advanced Stage of Talks

The report adds that Spurs have already agreed personal terms with Savinho, who is reportedly eager to make the switch. There is growing optimism that a total package in the region of £60m will seal the deal.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, correspondent Pete O’Rourke indicated that the move has been in the pipeline for some time and is nearing completion.

“I think it’s getting there. It’s been ongoing for a number of weeks and months now,” O’Rourke said.

“We know Tottenham’s interest is there; they’re long-term admirers of Savinho, and Roberto De Zerbi has admitted they are looking to make further attacking signings in this window, if possible.

“Savinho is a top target for them. Talks have been ongoing with Manchester City. The expectation is that this deal probably will get done before the close of the window, with Savinho making the move to North London.”

If the transfer goes through, Savinho would give De Zerbi a dynamic attacking option—direct, skilful in one-on-ones, and capable of both creating chances and posing a constant goal threat.
