As reported in the latest print edition of Corriere di Bologna, the Canaries have reached out to Serie A side Bologna regarding a possible move for Argentine winger Benjamin Dominguez—who is also attracting interest from Boca Juniors and Vasco da Gama.
The 22-year-old Dominguez has emerged as a target in response to Ahmed’s anterior cruciate ligament injury, which is expected to keep him out for the long term—a significant setback for Norwich.

Ahmed, who joined Norwich from Vancouver Whitecaps in January 2026 for around £1.4 million, had made an encouraging start to life in England. Despite the move being his first abroad, the Canadian adapted quickly, impressing in Norfolk whenever called upon.
Under manager Philippe Clement, Ahmed registered four goals and three assists in 21 Championship matches, proving a threat from the left flank, where he regularly cut inside onto his stronger right foot.
His injury is a heavy loss and one Norwich may not have planned for. However, with roughly three weeks remaining in the transfer window, there is still time to act—and Dominguez has now emerged as a target for the East Anglian club.
Dominguez moved to Bologna from Argentine side Gimnasia for around €4 million (£3.4 million) and has since made 48 appearances across all competitions, contributing four goals and six assists from the left wing.

The Argentine featured sparingly for Bologna last season, managing just 15 Serie A outings—only six of which were starts—and registered three assists without finding the net.
He frequently found himself behind former Norwich academy graduate Jonathan Rowe in Vincenzo Italiano’s pecking order, with Rowe preferred on the flank.
Though Dominguez’s game time has been limited, there is reason to believe he could thrive in Norfolk. The last Argentine winger to represent Norwich—Emiliano Buendía—proved a resounding success. While matching the current Aston Villa man’s impact would be a tall order, Dominguez’s arrival would inevitably evoke memories of Buendía for Canaries supporters.
Buendía also arrived with modest expectations following a low-key spell in Spain, and if Dominguez can follow a similar trajectory, Norwich could pull off an astute piece of business.
