BAD NEWS— Leeds United delt huge injury blow as the players ruled out of Spurs clash
Leeds United suffer major injury setback ahead of Tottenham clash
Leeds United are gearing up for a crucial Monday night fixture against Tottenham Hotspur, a game that carries significant weight for both clubs given their respective league positions.
Leeds currently sit 14th with 43 points. While not mathematically safe, results elsewhere this weekend could secure their Premier League status. Tottenham, meanwhile, enter the match just one point above the relegation zone and desperately need a positive result.
Ahead of the game, Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi praised Leeds for their recent form, describing the Whites as “one of the best teams” in the league over the past few weeks.
Daniel Farke’s side are on a six-match unbeaten run in the league and will be looking to extend that streak across their final three games of the season. De Zerbi’s men, however, have won back-to-back matches and will hope to claim three points on home turf.
Injury update
Speaking ahead of Monday’s match, Leeds assistant boss Edmund Riemer provided a concerning update on several first-team players.
He confirmed that defender Gabriel Gudmundsson will be out for the week and will be assessed on a daily basis. Pascal Struijk is also a doubt after missing training with a hip problem following a knock. In addition, Noah Okafor has suffered a calf strain, which is expected to rule him out of the next two games. The club hopes he may be available for the final day of the season.
“Gabi will be out for this week,” Riemer said. “Another one with Noah – picked up a calf strain. Will miss the next two games. Hope he will be available for the final day. He got it after the FA Cup game, but pulled the right one at Burnley. Pascal did not train today with a hip [problem]; he got a hit.”
The news comes at a particularly difficult time for Leeds as they push to secure their Premier League survival.
