As Tottenham battle near the bottom of the Premier League table, several of their players are expected to consider moves away during the summer transfer window.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side currently find themselves in the relegation zone with only five matches left to play.

Given their struggles in England’s top flight, a number of players could be headed for the exit—potentially even to other Premier League clubs.

With just five games remaining to escape the drop, Spurs are running out of time to convince their key stars to stay.

Tottenham Star Requests Summer Exit

According to Team Talk, Tottenham have made no progress in contract renewal talks with Micky van de Ven. The Dutch defender has told the club he wants to leave when the transfer window reopens, making it clear he has no intention of staying—no matter which league Spurs are playing in next season.

Several clubs are tracking Van de Ven ahead of the summer, including Premier League rivals Manchester United and Liverpool. The rapid centre-back, once called a ‘future Tottenham captain’ by former Spurs defender Michael Dawson, is said to admire De Zerbi—but that hasn’t changed his desire to move on later this year.

This has been a dismal season for Tottenham, and the situation could worsen if more key players follow Van de Ven out the door.

Spurs in Need of a Major Overhaul

After several disappointing years, Tottenham are in desperate need of a major reset this summer. The squad requires a complete rebuild, especially if De Zerbi’s playing style is to be fully implemented—meaning plenty of departures and arrivals are likely.

Off-the-pitch changes are also needed, and Spurs appear close to appointing a new sporting director. Reports earlier this week suggested that former Borussia Dortmund director Sebastian Kehl has emerged as the leading candidate for the role.
