Jamie Carragher predicts Tottenham’s next five results and total Premier League points tally
Jamie Carragher has offered a blunt assessment of Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of staying in the Premier League, and his latest forecast provides little reason for optimism as the season enters its critical final phase.
With five matches remaining, some teams already know exactly what they’re playing for.
Arsenal and Manchester City are locked in the title race, while clubs from fourth to 14th are still within touching distance of European competition—whether the Champions League, Europa League, or Conference League.
For Tottenham, however, the battle is to avoid relegation. They currently sit in the bottom three with five games left to play.
Carragher doubts Spurs’ survival hopes
Tottenham’s next match is against Wolverhampton Wanderers, whose relegation was confirmed after Crystal Palace and West Ham United played out a 0-0 draw.
A win for Spurs over Rob Edwards’ side would lift them to 17th, provided West Ham lose to Everton this weekend.
It’s a huge moment for Roberto De Zerbi and his team, but Carragher isn’t convinced Tottenham will come away with three points. Speaking on Sky Sports, he explained why he expects Spurs to struggle, even against a relegated opponent.
“I’ve seen enough of Wolves over the last few months,” Carragher said. “They’ve picked up points at home against really good sides. I know they’ve been relegated—they were poor against Leeds—and they’re down. Does that affect them? But look, the last time Tottenham won a league game was December. They haven’t won in the Premier League since December.

“It’s unrealistic to think you can just go away from home and win. I can’t see them losing. They might just nick it, but I’ve seen other teams go there and find it tough.”
Carragher’s verdict on Spurs’ relegation battle and Leeds clash
Tottenham still have to face Leeds United before the season ends—another opportunity to steer clear of the drop. But Carragher believes Spurs will again fall short, unable to handle the pressure of a must-win game.
His predictions for Tottenham’s remaining fixtures:
· Draw away to Wolves
· Draw away to Aston Villa
· Win at home against Leeds
· Lose away to Chelsea
· Win at home against Everton
“You’d think Leeds will go and beat Tottenham at home,” Carragher added. “But this is a game where nothing else but a win feels possible. With two or three games left, it’s as if Tottenham have to win by hook or by crook—that’s why I think they might just edge it.”
The former Liverpool defender was relatively generous with Tottenham’s points total but far more optimistic about their rivals.
He predicts Spurs will finish on 39 points, while Nottingham Forest end on 43 and West Ham on 41. If those forecasts hold, Tottenham would join Wolves and Burnley in the Championship next season.
