‘He’s Available’ – Roberto De Zerbi Drops Big Tottenham Injury Boost

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has revealed that his team has received a significant injury boost ahead of their upcoming clash with Aston Villa.

Spurs have struggled with injuries throughout the season, and their problems deepened recently when it was confirmed that Xavi Simons would miss the rest of the campaign. Dominic Solanke also picked up an injury in their last outing against Wolves, ruling him out of the Villa match.

Despite the ongoing setbacks, De Zerbi finally has some positive news. Speaking to the media before the crucial Premier League fixture, he confirmed that Pape Matar Sarr is back in contention after returning to training.

“Today was his first session with the group, but he looked very good. He’s available, yes. I haven’t decided on the starting XI yet,” De Zerbi said.

Sarr’s return is a timely boost for Tottenham as they prepare to face Unai Emery’s side, especially given their current injury concerns. Aston Villa are also dealing with their own setback, as Amadou Onana has been ruled out after sustaining an injury against Nottingham Forest.

With Simons unavailable, Sarr could step in as a replacement, though De Zerbi still has decisions to make regarding his lineup. Much may depend on James Maddison’s fitness. While Maddison has recently returned to the matchday squad, he is yet to make an on-field comeback following a serious knee injury.

If the former Leicester City midfielder is fit enough to start, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him included in the lineup—providing another potential lift for Tottenham ahead of a vital encounter.
