This weekend, Wolves face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League for the first time since their relegation was confirmed.

The Old Gold’s fate was sealed on Monday, when Nuno Espírito Santo’s West Ham United drew with Crystal Palace. While the outcome had been expected for some time, it still stung for many supporters.

Now, Wolves must focus on going down with dignity. Relegation is unavoidable, but the remaining matches offer a chance to build momentum for next season and allow players who will stay at the club to prove they deserve starting roles.

There’s also the added incentive of influencing other teams’ campaigns.

And one side in desperate need of points right now is Tottenham Hotspur.

Pundits predict Wolves vs Tottenham
Wolves host Spurs at Molineux in a game that will attract plenty of attention, largely due to Tottenham’s precarious position. Spurs are currently two points adrift of safety and badly need a win.

Wolves will aim to deepen their opponents’ troubles, and with the pressure off following confirmed relegation, they could well make life difficult. Still, both Gary Neville and Roy Keane believe Tottenham will get the win—because they simply have to.

On the Stick To Football YouTube channel, Jill Scott said: “They’ll win, Tottenham.”

Roy Keane predicted: “3-1 Spurs. You know what, it’s about time they showed some fight, some energy. A couple of lads are coming back. Was Maddison on the bench last weekend? Spurs will be fine.”

Ian Wright disagreed: “I actually think Wolves will get something.”

Gary Neville added: “I don’t think Wolves will win. I think Tottenham are going to score a late winner. 2-1.”

Wright responded: “They have to win this game.”

Neville concluded: “I don’t see Spurs being comfortable.”

Rob Edwards: Wolves won’t down tools
Relegation is now confirmed, but manager Rob Edwards is determined to extract maximum effort from his players in the final fixtures.

He told the Express & Star: “We know we’ve got to try and win and we’ve got to try and get results. Against Leeds there were a lot of duels, the lads were working hard, they were running, they were fighting because Leeds are really good at that. So you can’t question that, but that is our bare minimum.

“We need to try and find some results before now and the end of the season to try and get a bit of credit there and a bit of togetherness going into next season.”
