NBA veteran Bill Walton of the Blazers is honored by Pearl Jam’s “Man of the Hour” song.
Tributes to Bill Walton continue to pour in.
Pearl Jam is the latest to offer a tribute to the NBA Hall of Famer and former Trail Blazers’ legend. Pearl Jam debuted the song, “Man Of The Hour” Tuesday night, dedicating the song to Walton during their concert performance at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. Walton died at age 71 on Monday after a long battle with colon cancer.
Frontman Eddie Vedder talked about Walton, who was a fan of the band.
“We woke up yesterday to the sad news that somebody that we had met a number of times and every time we saw him it made such a huge impression,” Vedder said. “He was a big man with a huge heart and cut a wide path of peace and love behind him.”
Walton wasn’t only a fan of Pearl Jam. He was also a huge fan of the Grateful Dead. Members of the band offered tributes to the “biggest Deadhead in world” on Tuesday.
