Tottenham Close to Landing Liverpool’s Robertson and Bournemouth’s Senesi on Free Transfers, Says Romano

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly reached a full agreement with Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. The Scottish defender is expected to join Spurs this summer—but only if the club manages to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Romano Provides Updates on Robertson and Senesi Deals

Spurs are currently fighting to stay out of the relegation zone, with just five matches left in the season to secure their top-flight status.

A positive moment came in Saturday’s draw against Brighton, where Xavi Simons delivered a man-of-the-match performance and produced his best display since joining the club.

Off the pitch, Tottenham are also making progress on summer recruitment. Romano reports that a deal has been agreed “in principle” with Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi, who will become a free agent at the end of the season. While some details still need to be finalized for Senesi, the move for Robertson is further along.

Speaking on his latest YouTube video, Romano said: “Robertson is set to join Tottenham if they stay up in the Premier League. According to my information, there is already an agreement on everything between Robertson and Tottenham.”

Romano adds that neither player will officially sign until Spurs’ top-flight survival is mathematically confirmed. If both deals go through, Tottenham would secure two significant signings without spending a transfer fee.

De Zerbi Confident Spurs Will Survive

Meanwhile, Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi has rallied his squad, insisting they can win all five of their remaining Premier League matches.

Despite the team’s visible exhaustion after the full-time whistle against Brighton, De Zerbi said he felt more confident after picking up his first point since taking charge—against his former club.

West Ham currently sit one point above Spurs in 17th place, ahead of Monday’s trip to Crystal Palace. But De Zerbi backed his players to beat Wolves, Aston Villa, Leeds, Chelsea, and Everton to avoid the club’s first relegation since 1977.

“I always believed in the quality of the players,” he said. “We played a good game, but we can play better with more quality and calmness in possession. Right now, we need this spirit, attitude, and mentality.

“It’s not over. We have five games and 15 points left. This team is capable of winning five in a row. I know it’s hard to hear that now, but if you look at the level of our players, we can do it. I’m not being arrogant—especially not now—but we have enough quality to fight and win consecutive games.”
