Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has said young defender Leny Yoro is progressing well in his ongoing recovery programme.
Yoro, who joined the club from Lille in the summer, was unfortunate to pick up a metatarsal injury during our pre-season clash with Arsenal in the United States.
The 18-year-old has since undergone successful surgery to fix the issue and was pictured at Carrington on social media earlier this week.
No specific return date has been pencilled in for the French defender and the boss was recently asked how Leny is progressing overall.
“It is very pleasing that his rehab is going in the right direction and I expect him soon, but what I mean by soon, is that he is now in the right planning process.
“He is in the right spot and he will return as soon as possible into the squad and then the team training.”
Yoro’s injury against the Gunners was a bitter blow during our pre-season endeavours in the US, as he featured for just 35 minutes at the SoFi Stadium.
Striker Rasmus Hojlund was also injured in the very same game, with our no.9 having now returned from injury himself in recent weeks.
Leny’s progress at Carrington will of course be watched carefully and we cannot wait to see the Frenchman back in action for the Reds, with patience a key facet to stress.
