There are still seven matches remaining this season, but Everton have already made a major decision regarding their managerial future.
The Friedkin Group have chosen to offer David Moyes a new contract, with formal talks expected to begin after the campaign concludes, according to the Guardian.
Moyes still has more than 12 months left on his current deal, which runs until July 2027, but he appears ready to commit to an extension at the Goodison Park.
As Moyes prepares to extend his stay, it looks increasingly unlikely that young talent Adam Aznou will feature prominently at the club. Since his £8m move from Bayern Munich last July, the Morocco international has struggled for game time, with Moyes yet to hand him a single Premier League appearance.
Aznou recently removed all references to Everton from his Instagram, a clear sign of his frustration, and the news of Moyes’ new contract likely only deepens his discontent. At 19, the youngster may now be considering a summer exit from Merseyside to find more regular football elsewhere.
While European competition could have offered Aznou opportunities to feature if Everton maintain a push for UEFA qualification, the club are reportedly targeting Myles Lewis-Skelly to strengthen the left-back position. This suggests Aznou is unlikely to be elevated to a significant role in the first team.
With seven games left and Everton currently on 46 points, fans will be watching closely to see how the season concludes. Should Aznou depart, the Friedkin Group will likely hope to recoup the £8m invested in his transfer.
