adminTottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as they continue their ambitious squad rebuild under manager Roberto De Zerbi, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
After finishing 17th in the Premier League in each of the last two seasons, Spurs have been extremely active in the transfer market, bringing in several high-profile additions as they look to transform their fortunes.
Tottenham have strengthened their defence with the arrivals of Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke. They have also bolstered their midfield with the signings of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.
In goal, Martin Dubravka has joined to provide competition for Antonin Kinsky, while Guglielmo Vicario has moved to Juventus on loan.
According to Romano on his YouTube channel, Tottenham are now turning their attention towards improving their attacking options after making significant changes to their defence and midfield.
Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo and Manchester City winger Savinho have reportedly been identified as potential targets for the wide positions. Should Spurs fail to land Savinho, Chelsea winger Pedro Neto could emerge as an alternative.
For the centre-forward role, however, Tottenham are reportedly considering either Manchester City striker Omar Marmoush or Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.
Jackson to Tottenham?
Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal but endured an inconsistent spell in the Premier League. The Blues subsequently decided to strengthen their No.9 position and allowed the Senegal international to leave on loan for Bayern Munich.
Despite enjoying some positive moments at the Allianz Arena, Jackson struggled to establish himself as a regular starter, leading Bayern to decide against making the move permanent this summer.
At 25, Jackson still has plenty of room to develop and could represent an attractive option for Tottenham if Chelsea are willing to negotiate a reasonable transfer fee.
The striker is contracted at Stamford Bridge until 2033, putting Chelsea in a strong negotiating position. Transfermarkt currently values Jackson at around £34 million.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will make a formal approach for the forward before the summer transfer window closes.
For now, De Zerbi already has Dominic Solanke and Richarlison available as options in the No.9 position.
