O’Hara vs. Cundy: A Heated TV Clash Over Spurs and Chelsea Ambitions
Fireworks erupted on The Sports Bar as Jason O’Hara and former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy went head-to-head in a blistering row over their respective clubs’ Premier League prospects.
“10th? You’re Having a Laugh!”
Cundy, who also had a stint at Tottenham, kicked things off by telling O’Hara to rein in his optimism. Given Spurs’ back-to-back 17th-place finishes, he suggested a mid-table spot was the best they could hope for.
But O’Hara was having none of it—and he fired back with a dig at Cundy’s own bold claims.
“I think it’s a bit rich you coming here trying to dig out Spurs fans,” O’Hara snapped. “You literally came on your first show back and said Chelsea are going to win the league!”
Cundy shot back with a smirk: “Yeah, because we’ve won it before.”
Fuming, O’Hara hit back: “I’m not saying we’re winning the Premier League. I’m saying we can finish top four—we’ve done it multiple times. I’m not dreaming about something we haven’t achieved.”
Unimpressed, Cundy doubled down: “Jay, Jay… 10th. Take 10th.”
“I’ll Take Your Head Off!”
The tension escalated when O’Hara refused to settle for mediocrity.
“Don’t sit there and say, ‘Oh well, we’ve won it.’ We’ve been top four before. We can do it again.”
But Cundy kept twisting the knife: “Jay, if I offered you 10th right now, you’d bite my arm off.”
“I’m not taking your arm off for 10th,” O’Hara scoffed.
Cundy shot back: “Both arms, then.”
That was the final straw. O’Hara exploded: “I’ll take your head off if you carry on talking rubbish! Don’t annoy me!”
After admitting he “really wanted to swear,” O’Hara stormed out of the studio—leaving Cundy laughing in his wake.
New-Look Spurs—But Are They Better?
Tottenham have been busy in the transfer market, landing six senior signings including Sandro Tonali and Andy Robertson, with talkSPORT understanding they’re also chasing Man City duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush.
However, not everyone is convinced. Former Watford striker Troy Deeney has claimed Spurs have actually weakened their squad.
With the transfer window slamming shut at 11pm BST on Tuesday, September 1, the clock is ticking for both clubs to finalise their business.
London Derbies Await
The new Premier League season kicks off this Friday, and both Tottenham and Chelsea face tricky London derbies:
· Spurs travel to Brentford on Saturday evening.
· Chelsea, under new boss Xabi Alonso, head to Fulham on Monday night.
