The 19-year-old progressed through the Gunners’ academy and made his senior debut in 2022 at just 15 years old, though he has since found first-team opportunities hard to come by under Mikel Arteta.
Nwaneri saw more action during the 2024/25 season while Bukayo Saka was sidelined, contributing nine goals and two assists across all competitions.
But following the arrivals of Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze last summer, his role diminished, leading to a January loan switch to Olympique de Marseille. His time in Ligue 1 proved difficult, managing only three league starts.
As the September 1 transfer deadline approaches, Arsenal are reportedly open to another loan exit for Nwaneri, with Everton showing interest.
The Toffees have already made inquiries about the terms of a possible deal earlier in the window. RB Leipzig and Fulham are also in the mix, with Fulham having asked about his availability.
While Arsenal are not looking to sell Nwaneri permanently, the report suggests they would be willing to part with Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli, both of whom are out of contract at the end of the season.
Nwaneri to Everton?
A left-footed and technically skilled player, Nwaneri offers versatility across attacking midfield and the right wing, and is capable with both feet.
He excels at dribbling in tight spaces, creating chances, and contributing defensively.
Though his time at Arsenal hasn’t gone as planned, the £30m-rated prospect remains highly regarded and is seen as having significant potential.
A fresh start could be what he needs to unlock that promise, making him a potentially smart pickup for Everton—should they decide to make a formal move in the coming days.
