Earlier in the summer, Gakpo was valued at £70 million, but with the Reds needing to generate funds and free squad space for Bradley Barcola’s potential arrival from PSG, there may be room to negotiate a lower fee.
Gakpo could flourish under De Zerbi
After a patchy season at Liverpool, a fresh start at Tottenham might help Gakpo rediscover his best form—especially following a solid World Cup campaign with the Netherlands earlier this year.
Roberto De Zerbi’s system could be ideal for the left winger, giving wide attackers the freedom to drift closer to goal, which suits the 27-year-old’s skill set. Gakpo is a powerful shooter, capable of dribbling past defenders to create chances, and his willingness to hug the touchline and stretch opposition backlines would add tactical versatility for Spurs.
