The Brazilian forward left Everton for Tottenham in 2022, but his time in North London has largely seen him operate as a rotational option. Despite that, Richarlison played an important role in Tottenham’s Europa League success last season.
With Dominic Solanke struggling with fitness issues, the 29-year-old featured more regularly during the previous campaign, making 43 appearances across all competitions while contributing 12 goals and five assists.
However, Richarlison now has just 12 months remaining on his Tottenham contract, leading to increased speculation over his future during this summer’s transfer window.
TEAMtalk reports that Roberto De Zerbi is not actively looking to sell the forward, although Spurs could be willing to sanction his departure if Richarlison makes it clear that he wants to leave.
Everton are keen to reunite with their former striker and have reportedly maintained regular discussions with Tottenham. Richarlison himself is said to be very interested in making a return to Merseyside.
With his current contract expiring next summer, Tottenham could be forced to consider a cut-price sale, with Transfermarkt valuing the Brazilian at approximately £21 million.
Everton Could Make Richarlison Move
Despite their interest, Everton are reportedly unlikely to make a formal approach for Richarlison unless they first part ways with either Thierno Barry or Beto.
Barry, who arrived at Everton from Villarreal, endured an inconsistent campaign last season, scoring eight goals in 41 appearances across all competitions. Beto has also struggled to establish himself since joining from Udinese, managing 10 goals and one assist in 40 appearances last term.
As a result, Everton could benefit from adding a more proven and prolific attacking option this summer, and Richarlison would certainly fit that profile.
At 29, the Brazilian remains an experienced and talented forward who could provide Everton with additional firepower. A return to the club could therefore prove to be a smart move for both the player and the Toffees.
It remains to be seen whether Everton will turn their current interest into a concrete offer before the summer transfer window closes.
