Everton submit official offer of €41m for signing – 12 goals and 16 assists last season

Everton have stepped up their pursuit of Galatasaray winger Barış Alper Yılmaz with a new and improved offer, according to journalist Yakup Çınar, as reported by Super Haber.

The Turkish international has been a key figure for the Süper Lig champions, contributing 12 goals and 16 assists in 49 appearances last season. His form has caught the attention of several clubs, with Everton among the interested parties.

Fresh Bid Submitted

On August 3, Sport Witness reported that David Moyes’ side had made a verbal offer worth €35 million for Yılmaz, but Galatasaray rejected the proposal. The player himself is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

By August 6, Everton were said to be preparing another bid, with Galatasaray holding out for €50 million. Now, Çınar states that the Toffees have tabled a formal offer of €41 million. It remains unclear whether this figure includes add-ons, but the proposal still falls short of the Turkish club’s asking price.

Offer Falls Short

According to Çınar, Galatasaray remain unconvinced by Everton’s latest bid and have turned it down. However, the two clubs are expected to hold talks in the coming days, though further details have not been provided. Those discussions could see Everton push for a reduced fee, or Galatasaray hold firm on their €50 million valuation.

It is not yet known whether Yılmaz, who is under contract until 2028 and valued at €30 million by Transfermarkt, would be open to a move to Merseyside, despite his Premier League ambition.

So far, no other Turkish media sources have confirmed or disputed this latest update.

Primarily a left winger, Yılmaz can also feature in other attacking roles. With Tyrique George—signed this summer—as Everton’s only recognised left-sided wide player, Moyes may need to explore alternative options if they fail to agree a deal for the Galatasaray star.
