Tottenham Hotspur could find themselves in a fierce transfer battle this summer as they target a highly rated Bundesliga defender.
With Roberto De Zerbi preparing for his first full season in charge, strengthening the centre-back position is expected to be a top priority. Uncertainty continues to surround the futures of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, both of whom have been linked with moves to elite European clubs.

As a result, Spurs have reportedly renewed their interest in Castello Lukeba, the RB Leipzig centre-back they previously tracked last summer. The 23-year-old, who has a €90m release clause, has impressed with his composure on the ball and ability to build play from the back.
However, Tottenham are not alone in the race. Chelsea FC, Arsenal FC, and Manchester United are all said to be monitoring the defender, with reports suggesting bids in the region of £40m could be submitted.

Meanwhile, Spurs may already have a long-term solution within their ranks. Young defender Luka Vuskovic has been impressing on loan at Hamburger SV, producing standout performances that hint at a bright future.
With Vuskovic expected to join up with the first team next season, Tottenham fans will be eager to see whether the 19-year-old can step up to the demands of Premier League football — or if the club will still push ahead with a big-money move for Lukeba.
