Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence has reportedly been offered to Manchester United as the Red Devils continue to assess potential additions ahead of the new season.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the versatile full-back has emerged as an option for the Old Trafford club, while Manchester United are also keeping tabs on Chelsea striker Liam Delap.

Manager Michael Carrick is believed to be eager to strengthen his squad further, with Spence now among the players under consideration.

However, Manchester United are not the only club to have been presented with the opportunity to sign the England international, as Liverpool have also reportedly been offered the defender. At this stage, it remains uncertain whether United have expressed concrete interest.

Spence is said to be seeking guarantees over regular first-team football and is widely expected to move on from Tottenham before the transfer window closes.

Everton have also been linked with the 25-year-old, although their reported £25 million valuation falls well short of Tottenham’s asking price of at least £35 million.

Meanwhile, Liam Delap is also expected to be on the move after reportedly slipping down the pecking order at Chelsea following Xabi Alonso’s decision to strengthen his attacking options with the signing of Danny Welbeck.

Manchester United were interested in bringing Delap to Old Trafford from Ipswich Town last summer, but the young striker instead chose a switch to Chelsea. His debut campaign at Stamford Bridge failed to meet expectations, leaving him facing an uncertain future.

The 23-year-old managed just one Premier League goal in 28 appearances last season, although his impressive tally of 12 league goals in 37 matches during the 2024-25 campaign suggests he still possesses the quality to rediscover his best form with the right opportunity.

Benjamin Sesko is expected to spearhead Manchester United’s attack next season, but Carrick reportedly wants another striker to provide competition and depth, especially with Joshua Zirkzee likely to depart.

Spence could also prove to be a valuable addition thanks to his versatility. Comfortable at both right-back and left-back, the former Tottenham defender is equally capable of operating further forward on the wings, giving Manchester United another flexible option should they decide to pursue a deal.
