Earlier this week, Roberto De Zerbi hinted that Tottenham’s summer business isn’t over yet, teasing supporters by promising another “bomba” signing is still in the pipeline as the club hunts for more attacking options.
But Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has since clarified that this so-called bomba could come on top of Savinho, with De Zerbi also confirming that Spurs are expecting two or three more arrivals before the September 1 deadline.
The Brazilian winger has been one of Tottenham’s main targets throughout the transfer window. Although personal terms are said to have been agreed, the deal has stalled, with City reportedly waiting to bring in a replacement before sanctioning his exit.
Savinho hasn’t done much to dampen the rumors either. The 22-year-old has been active on social media, interacting with several Spurs players despite having no clear national or club ties to them. But this time, the latest incident unfolded offline, right in front of fans.
Savinho responds after Spurs fan’s transfer plea
Savinho started for Enzo Maresca’s side in a preseason clash against Inter Milan in Hong Kong, putting in a solid performance before being subbed off with about ten minutes left.
The game ended 1-1, with City eventually losing 3-1 on penalties. As players from both teams made their way toward the tunnel at Kai Tak Sports Park, a supporter seated nearby shouted: “Savinho, come to Spurs!”
According to the Daily Mail, Savinho is eager to push through the move to Tottenham ahead of the new campaign. However, City feel Spurs have yet to meet their asking price.
Tottenham sources reportedly believe City’s valuation has shifted since talks first began. Last summer, figures around £70m were frequently mentioned, and similar sums resurfaced when Spurs revived their interest in January.
More recently, Tottenham were hoping to negotiate a deal closer to £60m, especially after Savinho saw limited starts last season. But the latest reports suggest City may have actually raised their demands again—possibly explaining why negotiations have dragged on.
