🗣️Xabi Alonso: Naturally, it’s tough to take a loss, particularly when the opposition is down a man for that long. Still, I have to say I’m proud of the group. They showed great fight and produced a solid display across much of the game.
We’re still going through some post-match evaluations, but I can’t fault the effort. Regarding Richarlison’s goal, from where we stood, there appeared to be a clear foul in the lead-up that wasn’t given, and that sequence ended in what we believe was an offside goal. That’s football—these decisions are part of the game. We’ll take a closer look, but we won’t get stuck on it.
What really matters is the mentality the team displayed. I’m proud of them, and we’ll channel this into fuel for continued progress.
