Later that day, Sport Witness picked up on claims from Portugal suggesting that Nottingham Forest’s move was nearing completion, with Sá already having left Famalicão’s pre-season training camp.
Now, according to Greek outlet Ert Sports, the 21-year-old is set to finalise his transfer to the City Ground imminently. The player underwent his medical in the Algarve—conveniently, where Forest are currently holding their own pre-season camp.
Once the signing is wrapped up, Sá will then travel to Athens to join Olympiacos on loan for the upcoming season.
Sport 24 echoes that report, adding that the midfielder has already completed all necessary medical tests in Portugal.
Rather than heading to England, Sá is expected to fly to Greece on Wednesday to formalise the temporary move to Olympiacos—but only after Nottingham Forest officially complete his signing and approve the loan switch.
With both clubs and the player having reached an agreement, and the medical already ticked off, the contract is expected to be signed today upon Sá’s arrival in Athens.
Barring any last-minute hitches, Nottingham Forest should announce the transfer shortly after.
The deal is streamlined by the fact that both Forest and Olympiacos are owned by Evangelos Marinakis, making the internal loan arrangement straightforward.
