Nottingham Forest are still going in search of more players this summer as the club looks to enjoy a better campaign in the Premier League.
In two seasons back among the country’s elite, Forest have finished 16th and 17th, with Evangelos Marinakis now hoping to kick on.
So far, the team’s recruitment has been pretty good, with Elliot Anderson, Nikola Milenkovic, and Carlos Miguel as the three main additions.
Now, Forest are still hoping to fill a couple of gaps in their squad with Ismaila Sarr as one name now on the radar.
Forest were linked with Sarr recently but now the club will face competition for the Marseille star this summer.
Premier League club go all in to sign Ismaila Sarr
According to The Sun’s transfer guru Alan Nixon, Crystal Palace are ramping up their efforts to land Sarr this summer.
It’s been a quiet transfer window for the Eagles so far and with five of their players going to Euro 2024 with England that is probably a positive thing.
On page 57 of the print edition today, it’s been claimed that Palace will be going all out to sign Sarr this summer.
The 26-year-old has experience playing in England having spent some time with Watford where he registered 57 goal contributions.
Last season, he made 35 appearances for Marseille and helped himself to five goals and six assists across the campaign.
The player has been called ‘world-class’ by Senegalese hero El Hadji Diouf in the past and the winger would like a return to the Premier League.
Sarr signing makes little sense from Forest perspective
As good as Sarr is, he’s another right-footed winger to be linked with Forest this summer.
The Reds have Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga as right-footed options and a leftie would bring some balance.
Sarr does have a pretty decent record in the Premier League but it would be a surprise to see Forest sign another right-footed forward player.
Both Elanga and Hudson-Odoi had good campaigns during 2023/24 and they will be looking to build on that next time out.
Sarr is itching to return to the Premier League and perhaps Palace are holding the aces with this particular deal.
Forest do appear to be looking at the right sort of players, however, and hopefully, a few more additions can be made before the season gets underway.
