‘Tottenham feels like home. Of course I’d go back if the conditions were right’ Mauricio Pochettino’s honest Spurs admission
Pochettino Opens Door to Emotional Tottenham Return
At the end of a season in which Tottenham Hotspur has cycled through three different managers, Mauricio Pochettino still stands as the club’s longest-serving boss since the legendary Bill Nicholson.
The Argentine took charge of 293 matches between 2014 and 2019, guiding Spurs to four consecutive top-four finishes and a memorable run to the 2019 Champions League final. That success made him one of the most beloved managers of the club’s modern era—and it’s clear his affection for north London remains strong.

Now 54, Pochettino is preparing to lead co-hosts the United States at this summer’s World Cup. But in a recent interview, he admitted he would be open to a future return to Spurs—should the right opportunity arise.
“Yes, why not?” the Argentine told FourFourTwo when asked about the possibility of one day coming back to the Premier League.
However, any reunion at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would depend heavily on timing and circumstances.
“If the right conditions are there, of course. Tottenham feels like home to us,” he continued. “We identify with the club’s idiosyncrasies, values and supporters.”
Since leaving Spurs, Pochettino has managed Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea before taking on his current role with the U.S. national team. Yet despite coaching some of Europe’s biggest clubs, his ambition remains undimmed.
“Right now it’s about enjoying the World Cup,” he said. “After that, I’ve always said I came so close to winning the Premier League and Champions League, and want to try again.
“I’d like to be part of a project with the ambition of winning both.”
