“POINTS DEDUCTION FOR CELTIC?!” – PGMOL chief DROPS MASSIVE PUNISHMENT BOMBSHELL after Parkhead chaos vs Hearts

A former head of PGMOL has suggested that Celtic could be hit with a ‘points deduction’ after the pitch invasion that marred their Scottish Premiership title-winning victory over Hearts.

Following Callum Osmand’s dramatic 97th-minute winner that clinched the title on Saturday, thousands of Celtic fans flooded the pitch at Celtic Park. But the celebrations turned troubling when some supporters appeared to confront Hearts players, who were hurried down the tunnel amid safety concerns. Hearts later reported that their players and staff endured “serious physical and verbal abuse,” calling the incidents “deeply disturbing,” “shameful,” and “unacceptable.” The club also said it is in touch with Police Scotland and urged tough action.

“We expect the strongest possible response from football authorities to protect the safety of players, supporters, and the integrity of the game,” Hearts stated.

Celtic have since apologized and pledged full cooperation with Police Scotland and the SPFL as investigations continue.

With the Scottish FA yet to announce a decision, former refereeing chief Keith Hackett said a replay is unlikely and that any punishment might instead affect Celtic’s next season.

“The Scottish FA will likely conduct a review fairly quickly of what happened,” Hackett told Football Insider. “There are several issues they need to resolve. Fans came onto the pitch thinking the game was over — but was it?

“Normally, play resumes after a goal. They’ll need to clarify whether the match had officially ended and how that was determined, or if the pitch invasion itself ended it.

“If the referee didn’t blow the whistle, the Scottish FA have a difficult decision. Will they order a replay? Unlikely.”

Hackett added: “A replay seems impossible. I think they may lean toward a points deduction at the start of next season. That could be viewed as the appropriate outcome.”
