Jamie O’Hara left Jamie Cundy furious with his early prediction for Leeds United’s match against Tottenham.
The former Spurs midfielder was in high spirits as his beloved team led against Crystal Palace.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side went on to secure a third consecutive Premier League win at full-time, following earlier victories over Coventry and Chelsea.
They face a tough test next time out, though, travelling to Elland Road to take on Daniel Farke’s men. The Whites will be eager to bounce back from a five-match winless run, which followed a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
Safe to say, Cundy was left raging by O’Hara’s early call on the outcome of that 7 November clash.
What did Jamie O’Hara predict for Leeds United vs Tottenham?
O’Hara and his co-host had a heated debate over Spurs’ next three fixtures, the first of which is against the Whites. Speaking live on talkSPORT’s GameDay Phone-In, Cundy said: “If Spurs are back, you should pick up nine points from the next three games.” O’Hara replied: “I’ll take seven.”
Cundy then asked: “Who are you dropping points to?”
O’Hara answered: “Leeds, we’ll draw with them. We’ll beat them [Sunderland away].”
Cundy’s reaction was furious, firing back: “You have got some front, you don’t learn do you, you hear the same old guff coming out your mouth.”
What do the stats say about Leeds vs Tottenham?
Leeds rank 14th in the top flight for goals scored per game with one, while the Lilywhites are 11th with 1.1, according to FotMob data.
The LS11 outfit are 14th for shots on target per match with 3.7, while De Zerbi’s side are 10th with 4.4. The Yorkshire side rank 13th for big chances missed with 12, and Saturday’s opponents are eighth with 17, and will hope Dominic Calvert-Lewin can convert against the North Londoners.
Tottenham sit second for average possession with 63 per cent, compared to Farke’s side’s 48.1 per cent, which ranks 11th in the division.
The Peacocks are the third-best team in the league for goals conceded per 90 minutes, with just 0.9, while Spurs are joint-seventh with 1.1.
The data suggests O’Hara may be right, and it will be a very close contest that goes down to the wire. However, Cundy will be sick and tired of O’Hara constantly claiming Spurs are back, and hopefully Leeds can give him more ammunition to mock his colleague live on air.
