Jamie O’Hara reveals where he expects Tottenham to finish in the Premier League

Jamie O’Hara has given his prediction on where he expects Tottenham Hotspur to finish in the Premier League this season, following two consecutive campaigns in which the club ended 17th.

Spurs narrowly escaped relegation on the final day of last season, but the mood around the club has changed considerably ahead of the new campaign. There is growing optimism among supporters after a major overhaul of the squad and the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi as head coach.

De Zerbi has already made a strong impression on Tottenham fans with his energy, ambition and passion, while the club’s significant summer recruitment has added to the excitement surrounding the team.

With the new season just around the corner, Tottenham will be hoping to climb significantly higher up the Premier League table. O’Hara believes they have a realistic chance of returning to European competition.

Jamie O’Hara backs Spurs to finish sixth

Several Premier League clubs are entering the season in periods of transition, with three members of the traditional ‘big six’ beginning the campaign under new managers.

Despite the changes across the league, O’Hara expects the established big-six clubs to occupy the top six positions. Speaking on talkSPORT, he predicted Arsenal to win the title, with Manchester City second, Manchester United third, Chelsea fourth, Liverpool fifth and Tottenham sixth.

A sixth-place finish would represent a major improvement for Spurs and would potentially secure Europa League football during De Zerbi’s first full season at the helm.

Jamie Carragher sees an even bigger opportunity

While O’Hara has Tottenham finishing sixth, Jamie Carragher believes the club could potentially aim even higher.

The Sky Sports pundit pointed to the uncertainty surrounding teams such as Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, as well as Tottenham’s lack of European football, as factors that could work in Spurs’ favour.

Carragher suggested that if everything comes together under De Zerbi, Tottenham could even challenge for a place in the Champions League positions.

Reports have also claimed that De Zerbi privately believes a top-four or top-five finish is achievable this season, highlighting the growing confidence within the Tottenham camp.
