Tottenham Hotspur Close In on Seventh Summer Signing After Verbal Agreement Reached

Tottenham Hotspur are edging closer to completing their seventh signing of the summer after reportedly reaching a verbal agreement with Manchester City over the transfer of winger Savinho.

Spurs have been one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market as ENIC continue to back head coach Roberto De Zerbi in a bid to steer the club away from another relegation battle and re-establish themselves among the Premier League’s top sides.

The north London club have already strengthened significantly with the arrivals of Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke, Martin Dubravka, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. Fernandes and Tonali both arrived in club-record deals, highlighting Tottenham’s ambitious approach this summer.

Having reshaped both their defence and midfield, Spurs are now turning their attention to strengthening the attack while also trimming the squad. Luka Vuskovic has already departed in a lucrative move to Brighton & Hove Albion, while players including Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Lucas Bergvall and Richarlison continue to be linked with potential exits.

Tottenham’s priority has been signing a new left winger, with Manchester City star Savinho identified as their preferred target. The Brazilian was also on Spurs’ radar last summer, but negotiations failed to produce an agreement at the time.

Now, according to reports from a well-connected Tottenham source, the two clubs have reached a verbal agreement over the 22-year-old’s transfer.

Another report claims the deal could be completed for around £65 million, bringing Tottenham another major signing before the transfer window closes.

Despite their pursuit of Savinho, Tottenham are reportedly unwilling to abandon their interest in Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi.

The highly-rated French attacker enjoyed an outstanding breakthrough campaign last season and remains firmly on Spurs’ shortlist.

Reports suggest Tottenham are preparing an offer worth £85 million in the hope of convincing Bournemouth to part ways with one of their brightest young talents.

Club officials are believed to be optimistic that Kroupi would welcome a move to north London. The young forward enhanced his growing reputation by scoring 13 Premier League goals in 33 appearances last season before celebrating his 20th birthday during the summer break.

If Tottenham succeed in securing both Savinho and Kroupi, it would cap off an impressive transfer window and further strengthen De Zerbi’s options ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
