RAGING Kris Boyd left furious in Sky Sports Studio as he absolutely Destroys Celtic Live on Air for CHEATING against Motherwell as he BLASTS ‘Disgusting’ Fir Park Decision to Help Hoops win the game
Rangers icon Kris Boyd was left absolutely furious after Celtic were handed a controversial stoppage-time penalty in their dramatic 3-2 win over Motherwell—a result that set up a thrilling final-day Scottish Premiership title decider.
Celtic received a 97th-minute spot-kick when Sam Nicholson was judged to have handled the ball in his own box. Referee John Beaton made the call after reviewing the incident at the pitchside VAR monitor. The win means Celtic now need only to beat league leaders Hearts at Celtic Park on Saturday to defend their title. A draw would have required a four-goal victory over Hearts to lift the trophy.
Hearts had beaten Falkirk 3-0 earlier and looked set to clinch their first league crown since 1960 while Motherwell led 1-0. But the Steelmen couldn’t hold on, and Hearts boss Derek McInnes slammed the decision: “It’s disgusting. I don’t think it’s a penalty. We’re up against everybody. If I’m Motherwell, I’m really disappointed.”
Boyd went even further: “For that to fly off his head at that pace… if it hits your hand, it drops in front of you—it doesn’t fly off like that. Three massive calls in the last three games. Another dubious call has gone Celtic’s way. There’s no way he can be 100% certain it hit the hand. Nothing will be done about it.”
Hearts legend John Robertson added: “I don’t think it’s handball—it’s his head! It’s not clear and obvious. It feels like a defeat; it’s gut-wrenching.”
Celtic boss Martin O’Neill, 74, defended the decision: “The penalty looked pretty clear cut. There was also an elbow on top of that.”
