Tottenham fans will love Chris Sutton’s score prediction for Leeds United clash
Tottenham Hotspur fans are heading into Monday night’s clash with Leeds United with growing optimism, especially after hearing Chris Sutton’s latest prediction for the match.
Roberto De Zerbi has brought back some much-needed positive energy to N17, guiding Spurs to back-to-back Premier League wins. Victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Aston Villa were enough to lift Tottenham above West Ham United and out of the relegation zone last gameweek, especially after the Hammers fell 3–0 to Brentford.
All eyes now turn to Tottenham’s next fixture—a home match against Leeds United at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium—where De Zerbi’s men will be hoping to stretch their league winning streak to three.
Sutton backs Tottenham to beat Leeds United
Ahead of the game, Chris Sutton has shared his score prediction for the Spurs vs. Leeds encounter.
Writing in his BBC Sport column, Sutton predicted a rare home victory for Tottenham, backing them to make it three wins in a row despite their struggles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season. Only already-relegated Burnley have a worse home record than Spurs this campaign, with the Lilywhites managing just two wins on their own turf and still searching for their first home victory of the calendar year.
Explaining why he expects Tottenham to keep their momentum going, Sutton praised Spurs’ performance against Aston Villa and suggested that Leeds potentially securing safety before kick-off could also work in Tottenham’s favor.
He said: “Leeds are all but safe now, and they could be absolutely certain of staying up by the time this game is played. That scenario would definitely suit Spurs, but I’m backing Roberto De Zerbi’s side regardless.
“What a performance that was at Villa last week. People have criticized Villa, but that result and display felt huge for Tottenham. It lifted them out of the bottom three and finally gave Spurs some momentum—winning two league games in a row for the first time since August.
“I’m expecting more of the same here, so I’ll say they’ll make it three straight wins with the same scoreline they had when they won at Elland Road in October.”

Spurs fans will also welcome Sutton’s Arsenal prediction
While Tottenham supporters will enjoy Sutton’s take on Spurs vs. Leeds, they’ll also appreciate what the pundit had to say about West Ham United’s match with Arsenal.
The Hammers are in an even tougher spot than Tottenham and realistically need a victory over title-chasing Arsenal to keep their survival hopes alive. A defeat would see them lose further ground on Spurs if Tottenham beat Leeds, potentially opening up a four-point gap. Sutton believes that’s exactly how things will play out this weekend.
Discussing Arsenal’s attacking threat and West Ham’s difficult position, Sutton explained: “Arsenal look like a completely different attacking force now that Bukayo Saka is back. It’s going to be hard for West Ham to keep them out, and it doesn’t help that the Hammers desperately need a win after losing last weekend while all the teams around them won.
“A draw wouldn’t be a disaster for West Ham in isolation, but depending on what Tottenham do against Leeds on Monday night, even a point could leave them further behind. Arsenal have had big wins at London Stadium in each of the past two seasons. I don’t see them putting five or six past West Ham again, but I also don’t see them slipping up.”
