Tottenham relegation chances shift again in latest supercomputer prediction after Wolves win

Tottenham Hotspur secured a 1-0 victory over Wolves on Saturday, but even that result may not be enough to save them from relegation.

Roberto De Zerbi, brought in to steer Spurs out of the danger zone, claimed his first win as manager at Molineux on 25 April. João Palhinha came off the bench to score the game’s only goal in the 82nd minute, yet the Lilywhites remained outside the relegation zone. Why? Because West Ham pulled off a dramatic win over Everton, keeping them two points clear of Tottenham.

Now, a new supercomputer prediction has added to the anxiety surrounding Spurs and their manager.

What the supercomputer says about Tottenham’s relegation odds

Tottenham finally won a Premier League match for the first time since December—ending a 118-day drought—but it did little to improve their position. According to the Opta Analyst supercomputer, Spurs now face a 60.22% chance of relegation, while West Ham are rated at 36.84%. That marks a sharp rise from the 44.90% chance of dropping to the Championship that De Zerbi’s side faced before this weekend’s results.

Why Tottenham shouldn’t rely on the supercomputer

De Zerbi and his players would be wise not to put too much faith in the supercomputer’s latest forecast, which changes weekly. A single win could significantly lower their relegation odds, depending on how Nuno Espírito Santo’s West Ham perform.

Against Wolves, Tottenham fully deserved the three points. They enjoyed 59% possession, registered 11 shots (according to Fotmob), completed 400 passes compared to the hosts’ 232, and showed fighting spirit with 14 fouls. If they can maintain that level of performance, they stand a real chance of defying the odds and staying up.Spurs still have to face Aston Villa, Leeds United, Chelsea, and Everton in their final four matches—a tough run, but one that also offers a chance to build momentum. The supercomputer may suggest they’re doomed, but it may not be as bleak as it seems—at least not yet. There are signs that a turnaround is still possible.
