Parish Wants Him: Crystal Palace Must Appoint ‘Incredible’ Manager After Iraola Blow

Crystal Palace have suffered a setback in their attempt to land Andoni Iraola, but chairman Steve Parish is already exploring alternative managerial options ahead of the summer.

The Eagles are preparing for a change in the dugout, with Oliver Glasner confirming he will step down when his contract expires later this year. With that clarity arriving early, Palace’s hierarchy has been given ample time to line up a suitable successor.

Currently sitting 14th in the Premier League, Palace have endured a disappointing season compared to last year’s success, when they lifted both the FA Cup and the FA Community Shield in 2025. Replicating that form has proven difficult this campaign.

One name strongly linked with the role is Thomas Frank. The former Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford boss is currently without a club after parting ways with Spurs earlier in the season. Despite that setback, his reputation remains solid thanks to the impressive work he carried out at Brentford, where he earned widespread praise for his achievements.

While his move to Tottenham may not have gone to plan, Palace could represent an ideal environment for Frank to rebuild. Reports suggest the Eagles are seriously considering him, and with his availability, a deal would be relatively straightforward to complete.

Meanwhile, Palace’s pursuit of Iraola appears to have hit a dead end. Reports indicate the Bournemouth manager is only willing to leave for a top-tier club, and with his contract also nearing its end, he could remain with AFC Bournemouth heading into next season.

As a result, Parish and his recruitment team are now focusing on other candidates, with Frank expected to be among the leading contenders to take over at Selhurst Park once Glasner departs.
