Roberto De Zerbi rips up Thomas Frank and Igor Tudor arrangement for Tottenham clash vs Brighton

Roberto De Zerbi has been handed the task of keeping Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League, and the Italian has already introduced a notable change compared to previous managers.

Unlike under Thomas Frank or Igor Tudor, De Zerbi’s players will not travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the team coach ahead of their crucial clash with Brighton. With Spurs now deep in a relegation fight, the club has turned to the former Brighton boss to turn things around—though his first game in charge ended in a 1–0 defeat to Sunderland, leaving them still in the bottom three.

On Saturday evening, De Zerbi faces his old team, Brighton, in what is shaping up as a must-win match. But in a break from recent routines, the squad will arrive at the stadium earlier than usual and will not use the team bus.

Under Tudor, Tottenham fans had organized a well-supported welcome before a match against Nottingham Forest in March, with thousands lining the streets to greet the coach as it arrived in N17. However, there will be no such scene this time.

A fan group confirmed the change on X, stating: “Contrary to what we had hoped for, the players will not be arriving on the team coach for the Brighton game. We have been in discussion with the club and this is purely a decision taken by Roberto De Zerbi – the players will arrive earlier due to his reasoning.”
