adminAlan Shearer has once again praised England Star after the England captain produced another important performance during the Three Lions’ 2–0 victory over Czechia in the UEFA Nations League.
England responded positively to their previous defeat against Spain by securing a comfortable victory in Prague, with Anthony Gordon opening the scoring before Kane added the second goal to seal the result.
Kane’s goal was another reminder of his importance to Thomas Tuchel’s England side. The striker remained a constant threat throughout the contest and eventually got his reward when he finished to put England firmly in control.
The performance comes at a time when Kane continues to attract huge praise from former England players and football analysts. Shearer, who himself enjoyed a remarkable international career as a striker, has previously spoken highly of Kane and backed him for major individual recognition in 2026.
Earlier this month, Shearer said Kane would get his vote for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, pointing to the striker’s goalscoring record and domestic success with Bayern Munich. Shearer described Kane’s performances as “phenomenal” while explaining why he considers the England captain a leading candidate.
The Czechia match provided another example of Kane’s value to England. While Gordon’s opener gave the visitors the breakthrough, Kane’s goal ensured there was little doubt about the outcome after England had taken advantage of their numerical advantage following Pavel Sulc’s dismissal.
The victory also gave England their first clean sheet in seven matches, providing a welcome response after the disappointment of the Spain defeat.
Kane’s contribution was particularly significant because England needed a reaction in Prague. Rather than allowing the previous defeat to affect their confidence, Tuchel’s team controlled the match after going ahead and eventually secured all three points.
The England captain has also been influential beyond his goals. Following the Czechia victory, Kane praised Gordon and highlighted the winger’s recent performances for England, saying he was “showing that he belongs at the highest level” for both Barcelona and England.
For Shearer, Kane’s continued goalscoring output represents exactly why he remains such an important figure for England. The former Newcastle striker knows better than most the pressure that comes with leading the national team’s attack, and Kane’s latest contribution further strengthens his remarkable international record.
With England preparing for their next Nations League fixture against Croatia, Kane will once again be expected to lead the attack. His latest goal against Czechia means he continues to provide Tuchel with the experience and finishing ability that have made him one of England’s most reliable performers.
After another decisive display, Kane has once again given his critics little reason to question his importance to the Three Lions.
