Mykhailo Mudryk Sends Message to Tottenham Fans After Spurs Debut

Mykhailo Mudryk has addressed Tottenham Hotspur supporters after making his long-awaited debut for the club during their Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham were held to a goalless draw by Forest last weekend, finally ending a difficult run that had seen Roberto De Zerbi’s side lose their opening two league matches against Brentford and Newcastle United.

Although the result secured Spurs their first point of the campaign, the performance highlighted two very different aspects of the team.

Defensively, Tottenham looked far more organised than they had in their opening fixtures after conceding five goals across those two matches. However, their struggles in front of goal continued, with Spurs still waiting for their first Premier League goal of the season.

Mudryk Sends Message After Tottenham Debut

De Zerbi had a number of attacking options available against Nottingham Forest, with Omar Marmoush, Savio, Dominic Solanke, Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus and new loan signing Mudryk all featuring during the contest.

Despite having plenty of attacking talent on the pitch, Tottenham once again failed to find a way through the Forest defence.

Marmoush came closest on a few occasions but was unable to seriously trouble the goalkeeper, while Mudryk provided an encouraging glimpse of what he could offer during his first appearance in Tottenham colours.

The Ukrainian winger entered the game in the 74th minute, replacing Tel, and immediately showed signs of his pace and willingness to take on defenders.

Mudryk also won several fouls and attempted to make things happen in the final third during his short spell on the pitch.

The appearance was particularly significant because it marked his first competitive match since 2024.

Following his debut, the 25-year-old took to Instagram Stories to thank Tottenham supporters for their backing.

“No feeling better to be back on the pitch. First minutes in new colours. Thanks for support, furthermore,” Mudryk wrote.

De Zerbi Warns Mudryk Needs More Time

Despite the positive signs from Mudryk, De Zerbi has made it clear that the winger is not yet ready to start matches regularly.

The Tottenham boss explained that Mudryk still needs to improve his physical condition after his lengthy absence from competitive football.

“He is not ready yet. He is working to reach the best physical condition. He needs time, he needs work,” De Zerbi said.

The Italian also highlighted the competition for places on the left side of Tottenham’s attack, with Mudryk expected to compete with Tel.

De Zerbi admitted that both players possess significant potential but suggested that their decision-making still needs improvement.

“In that position, we have Mathys Tel, big potential. But also Mathys takes too many wrong decisions, and Mudryk,” he added.

“So, two big players, two big potential players.”

With Tottenham desperately searching for their first league goal, De Zerbi will be hoping Mudryk can gradually regain his sharpness and eventually provide another attacking option.

For now, however, the Ukrainian will need patience as he works his way back to full fitness and adapts to life in North London.
