Ipswich Town Eye Ambitious Double Deal for Tottenham Duo Wilson Odobert and Tyrese Hall

Ipswich Town are reportedly considering an ambitious move for two Tottenham Hotspur players, with Wilson Odobert and Tyrese Hall emerging as potential targets before the transfer window closes.

The Tractor Boys have enjoyed a hectic summer following their return to the Premier League. Gary O’Neil has taken over from Kieran McKenna, while the club have brought in 12 new players, including Florentino Luis, Julio Enciso, Daizen Maeda, Emerson and Abdul Fatawu.

Despite securing an impressive 2-1 victory over Sunderland in their opening league match, Ipswich remain keen to strengthen further ahead of the September 1 deadline. Their attention has now reportedly turned towards Tottenham.

According to journalist Darren Witcoop, Ipswich are exploring the possibility of completing a double deal for Odobert and Hall.

Odobert joined Tottenham from Burnley in a £25 million transfer in 2024 and is approaching a return to competitive action after suffering an ACL injury in February. Before the setback, the 21-year-old had made 32 appearances for the north London club.

The French winger is renowned for his explosive pace and ability to take on defenders. At just 21, he is still viewed as a player with considerable room for development, and Ipswich reportedly believe he could add another dimension to their attacking options.

Hall, meanwhile, is yet to make a Premier League appearance for Tottenham. However, he caught the eye during a season-long loan spell at Notts County last campaign, registering eight goals in 36 appearances across all competitions as the club secured promotion from League Two.

The 21-year-old midfielder is also a Jamaica international and would likely be viewed by Ipswich as a longer-term investment rather than an immediate starter.

Tottenham Could Sanction Departures

Tottenham have enjoyed a productive summer transfer window, with the arrival of Savio and Omar Marmoush further increasing competition for attacking positions. With the club also looking to add another forward, opportunities for Odobert could become increasingly limited.

The winger featured regularly under Thomas Frank before his injury and showed flashes of quality, particularly with his willingness to run at defenders. However, his final output was often inconsistent.

With James Maddison, Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski also expected to return to full fitness, Odobert could find himself further down the attacking pecking order.

Hall’s situation is different but equally uncertain. Tottenham and Roberto De Zerbi have reportedly been open to allowing young players to leave in search of regular first-team football, and Hall could be another candidate for a temporary or permanent exit.

With the deadline approaching, Tottenham appear willing to consider offers, while Ipswich are emerging as a potential destination for both young players.
